The vanity

I got this vanity off craigslist (love that site)!  It was sitting in someone's basement, and had water damage around the bottom.  I have seen exact vanitys selling at consignment shops for well over $170.  This one needed a little help, but I had someone that fell in love with it and wanted me to paint it in a Moroccan theme.  Not knowing much about that theme, I set out on a search.  The first thing I found was the new material for the seat, and went from there.  As I was waiting for the material to be shipped, I started sanding, glueing, and painting this piece.  Here is the before.

Moroccan theme...huh!

With cabin red paint I mixed some black, and some more black to get my 2 colors, and bought a little pod of yellow for the accent stencil. There is a large round mirror, but I kept it in a secure area, I didn't want anything to happen to it. I did use the material in all the drawers, but I forgot to take a picture.  It was picked up today, and I think she LOVED IT!

In October I went to a end of the season yard sale.  I picked up this chair, and it needed some love.
So I lightly sanded it, and tried my hand at spray paint.  I used a satin black.  Then I used The Graphics Fairy humming bird design (thank you) and printed it out on a t shirt iron on sheet.  I ironed it to a left over piece of drop cloth (left over from making my living room curtains), and stapled it to the chair seat.  LOVE IT!

Re-purposedRestorations

Re-purposedRestorations
We have had a few nice days here considering its winter.  So I am outside working.  I bought this dresser a few months ago, and I didn't know at the time that the leg was falling off, so I attempted to glue it.  After a few more weeks sitting in the shed, I got her out.  And the glue didn't hold well. So I tried again, and put some clamps on it.  But for some reason, I think the leg might have warped, because now I can't get both ends to fit. UGH!  So I grabbed my husband's tools (tape measure, straight edge and a circular saw!).  And I cut it in half! Here is the before...

Leg is glued again, and now it's painted and distressed.  The top was sanded down. And here is my COFFEE TABLE!  The drawer is functional as well.  Lot's of storage.  DONE!

I think it's needs some kind of embellishment on the front, it looks a little bland.
