I cruise blog land every night for inspiration. Well I found it over at http://atozcustomcreations.net/ . After perusing her site and falling in love with her
Venezuelan dresser, I happened across a beautiful dresser on craigslist. I ran right out and scooped her up.
Her legs are what caught my eye..So I kept her hidden on my porch, I had a few custom orders before I could take her outside and start her make over.
I painted a dark blue-green for the base (I love mixing colors), and I am always asked "What color is that?", I answer Rachel's mix.
I then mixed a lighter color and a little heavier than a dry brush coated her again. Then the Modern Masters paint for highlights...
The trim around the outside of the drawers were a beautiful birdseye maple veneer, and I didn't want to paint over that, so I taped it up.
Then lightly distressed. I did have a mishap with the mirror. It's old and heavy, and when I was taking the backing off, my toe got in the way.
Let's just say, that's pretty compared to what it looked like later that night. (Please excuse the dry skin, I think I need a pampering day...SOON!)
